One request

A birth chart in one POST

Send the birth as the clock on the wall where it happened, with an IANA zone beside it. Leave the zone out and the API derives it from the coordinates and tells you what it used. Every answer comes back in the same envelope: data for the calculation, meta for the ayanamsa, the zone, the engine version and how long it took.

Birth details are used to compute the answer and are never stored. Request bodies are not logged, and the cache is keyed on a hash.

Why Kaal Jyoti

Depth, and a price you can predict

This is the calculation engine behind a published Vedic astrology app used in Hindi and English — not a generic ephemeris wrapper with Sanskrit labels.

58 endpoints, 43 calculations

Kundli and the sixteen vargas, five dasha systems, yogas, shadbala and bhava bala, ashtakavarga, graha drishti, KP cusps and significators, Jaimini karakas and padas, Varshphal with sahams and Tajika yogas, transits and Sade Sati, Ashtakoota matching, panchang and muhurta. Not a birth chart with extras bolted on.

Every API on every plan

A calculation costs one credit, a written reading five, and every price is on one page. No plan locks an API away — the Free plan can call a Varshphal or a KP chart. A refused request — a bad date, a missing key, a rate limit — costs nothing.

Hindi and English, from the same call

Ask for `language: ["en", "hi"]` and every id comes back with both names attached. The Hindi is the app's own, written by a practising astrologer — not machine translation of a planet list.

JSON, and charts as SVG

Every answer is plain JSON with stable snake_case ids. `POST /v1/kundli/chart` returns a drawn chart — North, South or circular — as an SVG document you can theme with CSS variables and drop into a page or a PDF.

An MCP server for agents

The same calculations as Model Context Protocol tools, over stdio or a remote endpoint, with the same schemas the HTTP API validates against. A tool call is one API request, at the same credits.

Proven against the app

The engine behind this API is checked against the Kaal Jyoti app's own engine on ten thousand generated births before every release. 47 ayanamsas, 1800–2400 CE, conventions documented rather than guessed at.

For AI agents

Seventeen MCP tools, one key

Point Claude, Claude Code or Cursor at the Kaal Jyoti MCP server and an assistant can compute a chart instead of inventing one. The tools take the same inputs the HTTP API validates, and each tool call is one ordinary API request — same limits, same quota, same credits.

Integrations

22 widgets, no code to write

A panchang, a month calendar, drawn charts, a kundli form with a tabbed report, Ashtakoot matching, horoscopes, readings and birth calculators — ready-made web components in English and Hindi, in four looks, that call the API for you. Each costs the credits of the routes it calls, and the catalogue says how many.

Prices are per month, billed monthly. Annual is ten months’ price for twelve. Indian accounts are billed in rupees, GST included; everywhere else in dollars. A request costs its API’s credits — a refused one costs nothing. Plan credits reset every month on your billing day and do not carry over; credit packs last 12 months.
