If a value looks wrong, tell us the kundali’s date, time and place, the ayanamsa you used, and what you expected. That lets us reproduce and check it quickly.
Before you write in
A few things that solve most questions right away:
- Make sure your birth details (date, time and place) are exact — small changes can shift a chart.
- Check the ayanamsa set on the kundali; Lahiri is the default, and each kundali uses one at a time.
- Remember that some conventions (sunrise, arudha padas, muhurta timings) are intentionally chosen and may differ from other tools — this is expected.

Is Kaal Jyoti free?
Yes — Kaal Jyoti is completely free: unlimited kundalis, all calculations, and PDF export. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. The app is also open source (AGPL-3.0).
Does Kaal Jyoti give predictions or readings?
No. Kaal Jyoti is a calculator. It produces charts, dashas, panchang and other traditional calculations, and lets you export them to PDF — but it does not generate predictions, forecasts, or personalised advice. Interpretation is left to you or a practitioner you choose.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. The core calculator works fully offline with no account required. Only optional features — creating an account, cross-device sync, and the Mahakosh community — use the internet.
Where is my data stored? Is it private?
Your kundalis and settings are stored, encrypted, on your own device and don’t leave it unless you turn on sync. We don’t sell your data or show ads. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I export my charts?
Yes. You can export any kundali and its calculations to PDF — choose which modules to include, add a cover page, and print or share. PDF export is free.
Why does a value differ from another astrology app?
Differences usually come from the chosen ayanamsa or from convention choices (for example, our sunrise is computed using Hindu convention, and arudha padas follow a specific rule). These are documented and intentional. If you still think something is wrong, email us the chart details and we’ll check.
How do I delete my data or account?
You can delete individual kundalis in the app, or uninstall to remove local data. Turning sync off for a kundali removes its server copy immediately. To delete your account and everything tied to it, see the account & data deletion page.
