Kaal Jyoti (operated by GoAppsters Private Limited) is offline-first: most of your data lives only on your device, so most deletion happens instantly, in the app, with no request needed. This page explains what is stored where, how to delete it, and how to delete your account entirely.
1. Data on your device (no account needed)
- Delete one kundali: open the kundali list, delete the kundali. It is removed from the device immediately.
- Delete everything local: uninstall the App. All locally stored kundalis, dashboards and settings are erased with it.
If you never created an account, that is the whole story — we hold nothing about you on any server.
2. Synced kundalis
- Turn sync off for a kundali and its copy is removed from our servers immediately. Other devices keep the local copies they already have.
- Delete a synced kundali in the App and its server copy is wiped immediately, and the deletion is propagated to your other signed-in devices.
3. Delete your account
In the App: open Menu, and on your account card tap “Delete account…”. After you confirm, your account and everything tied to it is deleted immediately — no email, no waiting period.
No longer have the App installed? The quickest way is to reinstall it, sign in, and delete your account from the Menu — it takes under a minute, works instantly, and you can uninstall again right after. If reinstalling is genuinely not possible for you, you can instead email support@goappsters.in with the subject “Delete my Kaal Jyoti account” from the address you signed in with; we verify by replying to that address and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted with your account:
- Your sign-in identity (email address, Google/Apple sign-in link) and profile (display name).
- All synced kundali copies stored on our servers.
- Your push notification tokens and pending notifications.
- The link between you and your discussion comments: the comments themselves remain so conversations stay whole, shown as from a deleted account with nothing connecting them to you. Want a comment's text gone too? Delete it in the App (long-press → Delete) before deleting your account.
What is not affected:
- Data on your devices. Local kundalis stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App — account deletion never reaches into your device.
- Anonymized Mahakosh contributions. Charts you contributed to the research community are stored anonymized (an MK-code, not your identity), and account deletion severs even the internal link between them and any account. If you want a chart removed from the research pool entirely, withdraw it in the App before deleting your account (open the kundali → Mahakosh → Withdraw). After the account is gone, a contributed chart can no longer be traced to anyone — including by us — so it can't be withdrawn on request.
- Records we must keep. We may retain limited information where the law requires it (for example, moderation records for reported content), and information that no longer identifies you.
4. Deleting data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your account to reduce what we hold. You can turn sync off per kundali, delete individual comments, revoke notification permission (which removes the push token), or ask us to withdraw a Mahakosh contribution — each of these works independently, and the offline calculator keeps working regardless.
